Who Are The Greatest WWE Wrestlers Based Upon How Many Championships They Have Won

Greatest WWE Wrestlers of All Time: While it is the in-ring skill, ability to draw crowds, and mic skills that make a wrestler one of the greats, their WWE success also counts towards how much of an impact they had on the company and the business.

Today, we will look at which WWE Superstars have won the most championships, and thus, are some of the greatest.

World Championship

Men’s

When it comes to winning the most World Championships in WWE, the undisputed GOAT is John Cena, who has won the top prize in the company a whopping 16 times. While Ric Flair is also a 16-time World Champion, he has only won the WWE Championship twice, with the rest being outside WWE (some say that Ric Flair has won far more than 16 world titles).

The second place is shared by Evolution teammates Randy Orton and Triple H, who along with John Cena, had a stranglehold on the world titles in the 2010s.

Next is Hulk Hogan, who has won both - the WWE and WCW Championship six times each, taking his tally to 12.

And to round off the list of wrestlers with more than 10 world titles are Brock Lesnar and Edge, who have won 11 World Championships each. However, Brock’s one World Championship came in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Women’s

The list of Women’s World Champions is much more limited, with only one wrestler winning over 10 titles.

Charlotte Flair is on the path to beating her father’s record of 16 world titles. The 15-time World Champion is still a prominent part of WWE’s Women’s roster and is expected to go past the 16 titles mark.

With a dramatic fall in the number of titles, Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) is second on the list with seven title wins. Banks has the same number of titles as Trish Stratus, who held the record of seven world titles for years.

Rounding off the top five are Becky Lynch and Mickie James, both with 6 each.

All titles (except the 24/7 Championship and Hardcore Championship)

We will now look at who won the most titles in WWE as a whole, not only the world championship.

If we counted the 24/7 Championship in this list, the undisputed WWE GOAT would have been R-Truth, who had a whopping 54 reigns with that title alone.

With that out of the way, Edge is the most prolific championship winner in WWE. A 31-time champion in WWE, the rated R-Superstar has 11 World Championships, 14 Tag Team titles, 5-time Intercontinental and one-time United States Champion.

Next is Ric Flair, who, with his championships in WCW, has won 29 titles in his career, with only five of them coming in WWE.

Chris Jericho is only one behind Flair with 28. The 5-time World Champion also has the record of the most Intercontinental Championship reigns with 9.

Rounding out the top five are Booker T with 25 and John Cena with 24. While Cena obviously won all his titles in WWE, Booker only won 10 of his in the Stamford-based promotion
